Tang Qi travels to a Miao village for work, but unexpectedly gets confessed to by the team's photographer. The man's obsession terrifies him, a completely straight guy!

To avoid his pursuer, he asks the village chief, Lan Sihui, for help. Lan is the only college graduate in the village, an educated young man who seems gentle and refined and speaks eloquently about grand plans for the village's future.

On the stilt house, Tang Qi forces a harmless smile. "Chief Lan, could I stay with you for a few days? I don't know my way around, and I'm a little scared."

Lan Sihui looks up, his gaze as gentle as water. "Of course. You're perfectly safe here."

One day, Tang Qi's instinct for survival finally overcomes his fear.

He pulls up the footage from the tiny camera hidden in the lining of his luggage.

Late at night, under the deathly pale moonlight, the camera points at the bed.

He is buried in the covers, sleeping without a care in the world.

The man who seemed so bright and refined during the day slowly takes off his glasses. His eyes reveal everything he had been hiding. Cold silver jewelry rests against his sweat-damp temple as he leans down to plant a kiss...

A low, magnetic voice sounds:

At the end of the footage, the man puts everything back exactly as it was.

Terrified, Tang Qi flees for the village entrance in the middle of the night.

Thick fog envelops everything, and the mountain path disappears.

Rustling sounds surge from every direction. A swarm of dark red and black insects closes in around him.

Lan Sihui slowly emerges from the fog, moonlight outlining his figure, dangerous and intensely predatory.

"Qiqi." He smiles, his voice as gentle as ever. "Didn't we agree that I'd protect you forever?"

Tang Qi backs up against the cold, hard mountainside, with nowhere left to go. He sobs until he can barely breathe. "I'm straight! And I'm homophobic! Lan Sihui, please let me go!"

His words are swallowed by the sudden approach of scorching body heat.

Lan Sihui grips his chin, his eyes overflowing with the infatuation he had been hiding. "Straight? What does that have to do with me liking you?"

"Or call me Brother Lan, and I'll let you go."

Tang Qi trembles as he says, "Bro...ther...Lan."

"You're saying it so sweetly..." Lan Sihui pins him against the mountainside. "Are you asking me not to let you go?"

Tang Qi: ...???

When Tang Qi wakes up in the morning and tries to move, the arm around his waist immediately tightens.

The rules quietly change. No one sees him yank Cheng Yan to safety and shield him from a poisoned arrow fired from the shadows with his own back.

Nameless corpses appear one after another in golden frames. The moment Cheng Yan touches one, Three is forced to read its gruesome memories, and collapses to his knees in pain. Kui Si's fingertips rest on his trembling eyelids. "Don't look."
