[Staying Under One Roof] [Rekindled Romance] [Campus Romance]
On Feng Ling's first day in Lincheng, a basketball hit her on the head. The boy on the court wore a white school uniform and had sharp brows and striking eyes. His expression was cold and arrogant, and even his apology was careless: "Sorry, slipped."
She held in her anger and pounded on the door for ten minutes. It finally swung open, revealing Song Qingyuan, the boy who'd "slipped" earlier, looking impatient. "Who are you?"
Everyone said Song Qingyuan of Lincheng No. 1 High School had a terrible temper, an arrogant streak, and a face handsome enough to make anyone swoon. He was not someone to mess with.
On her very first day as a transfer student, Feng Ling "accidentally" pulled his pants down, and from then on, the two became famous throughout the school.
Their feud began there, and they sparred openly and behind each other's backs.
She acted sweet in front of Song Qingyuan's grandmother, charming the old woman into treating her like her own granddaughter. Behind her back, though, she kept score against Song Qingyuan. When she was on duty, she marked him absent, constantly complained about him to their homeroom teacher and his grandmother, and got him punished by one after another. She even badmouthed him in front of the girl he had a crush on.
In the end, she got him saddled with a curfew, punishment essays, and a shattered cool-guy image.
Song Qingyuan ground his teeth and laughed coldly. "Fine. You'd better hope you never actually fall into my hands."
Feng Ling didn't take him seriously. She was an excellent student from a wealthy family. What trouble could she possibly get into?
But when the perfect, happy-family image she'd built was exposed, and she stood there helplessly in tears as people mocked her and looked at her with contempt, a hand suddenly came down on her head and roughly ruffled her hair twice. The boy gave a soft, mocking snort. "What are you so scared of? Where's that nerve you had when you bullied me?"
Song Qingyuan stepped in front of her and raised his chin, arching a brow at the others. "Who do you think you are, picking on my little sister?"
Feng Ling was stunned. Through her tear-blurred vision, Song Qingyuan seemed more handsome than she'd ever imagined.
Afterward, the boy handed her a bandage. Beneath a sky ablaze with sunset, Song Qingyuan gave a small cough and turned away, pretending not to care.
He said, "Just stay at my place. Don't leave."
A flush spread across his cheeks, and Feng Ling blushed too, but she marked the date she'd leave on her calendar.
After the college entrance exams, she packed her bags and disappeared without a trace.
At the opening ceremony of A University, the outstanding freshman representative stood at the very top of the stage, delivering a speech.
Feng Ling was so sleepy she could barely keep her eyes open. When she was unexpectedly called out, she immediately looked up.
There stood Song Qingyuan in a perfectly tailored suit, drawing everyone's attention. He stared straight at her in the corner, his expression half amused. "My name is Song Qingyuan. One important reason I came to A University was to win back the girlfriend who played with my heart and then coldly abandoned me."
Feng Ling froze. The next second, the whole auditorium erupted in cheers.
In a secluded corner, Song Qingyuan caught the fleeing Feng Ling by the wrist and pinned her against the wall.
She stared at him, bewildered and out of breath, her eyes like a frightened rabbit's as she waited for him to pass judgment.
Song Qingyuan curled a long finger around a lock of her hair, twirling it. His voice was teasing and playful. "What are you scared of? Why didn't you say a word to me before you ran away?"
Before she could say anything, his eyes reddened first.
"Feng Ling, I've missed you this whole time," he said.
"Why won't you let me be yours?"
Song Qingyuan was a prince.
I was a coward.
But he rushed over and took my hand, making me understand that love can overcome anything.
