2. The silver lion is a white variety of leopard, so it's actually a leopard, also known as a silver lion. The jellyfish combines the cutest traits of several kinds of jellyfish; it isn't just an immortal jellyfish. The top's second mimicry is a blue-ringed octopus.

3. Mimicry is humanity's self-directed genetic evolution in the interstellar era. Different types of evolution grant different abilities, but also bring some of the evolved species' habits with them.

4. Worldbuilding: Humans with mimicry are called mimics. Based on the degree of mimicry, human evolution has three tiers: ordinary humans, low-tier mimics, and high-tier mimics. The protagonists are the highest-tier mimics.
