Road Conditions for the Rest of Our Lives: Please Show Me the Way

Three months after Shen Tu and He Yunting broke up, Shen Tu heard that He Yunting was going on a blind date.

Ten minutes later, he got in his car and set off without a destination. At the first service area, he started a livestream. "A breakup road trip. Making a little gas money."

At first, only a handful of viewers tuned in. He chatted while driving, and to his surprise, the tips kept increasing until he was earning more than his salary.

Not bad. Might as well keep going.

One user named "Yunting" caught his attention. They only sent expensive gifts, and their message was always the same: "The road is dangerous. Drive slowly." Every time Shen Tu read that name aloud, his heart skipped a beat.

He headed west, reminiscing about the past in a joking tone during his livestreams, sometimes talking about his ex. The viewers loved hearing it, and Yunting sent more and more gifts.

As he climbed higher, Shen Tu reached a mountain pass with a view of the snow-capped peaks. Seeing that familiar username flood the screen again, he suddenly asked softly into the camera, "Boss Yunting, I've made enough for gas a long time ago. Are you still waiting for me?"

The chat instantly erupted.

As he rounded the next sharp bend, a familiar black SUV was parked right across the road, almost as if deliberately blocking his way.

Shen Tu slammed on the brakes.

The car door opened, and He Yunting stepped out. The highland wind tousled his hair, and his eyes were red.

He knocked on Shen Tu's window and said, "Shen Tu. Your livestream... you've made enough for gas. When are you coming back?"

P.S.

A lighthearted, healing story with a fairy-tale feel. Mainly, I just wanted to write about the magnificent landscapes of our motherland.
