After Sewing My Nemesis Shut with a Red Thread

Enemies turned into Daoist partners, and severing the red thread is harder than falling in love.

Qing Heng, the Star Lord of Fate, governs the destiny registers of the Three Realms. Cold and aloof, she has always wanted nothing more than to get rid of her sworn enemy, Mo Lin of the Lihuo Palace.

Until she discovers that throughout her 107 cycles of tribulation and reincarnation, every time she died unexpectedly, this sworn enemy of hers had saved her by a twist of fate.

With the last wisp of her soul held in his palm, Mo Lin's eyes roil with a fury and despair she cannot understand. "Why run? Our names were sewn together by a red thread on the Three Lives Stone."

"If we tear it apart, our souls will scatter."

Qing Heng: ...???

From then on, the cold Star Lord of Fate and the violent God of War are forced together. Their daily life includes, but is not limited to:

He burns through the Nine Hells with demonic flames, and she restores order with her pure light, cleaning up the mess;

She incurs karmic backlash by judging people's fates, and he bears the pain with the essence of his Lihuo flames;

Trading insults is their daily routine, fighting side by side is the norm. Amid a sea of hatred and desperate straits, they search for the only way to survive.

Later, Mo Lin realizes the red thread has sewn together more than just their names. It has also bound them with something more enduring than hatred:

The faint ache in his heart when she mourns a cherished object broken,

The worry lingering in her eyes when he returns from danger,

And the understanding and reliance that quietly grow through countless brushes with death.

Later still, before the Three Lives Stone, he takes her hand and uses his Lihuo flames to burn the red thread, asking hoarsely:

"If we cut the thread, but stay bound to each other, would that be all right?"

#How to violently unravel the red thread binding you to your enemy and turn it into a marriage certificate#

#A hapless Daoist partner who wakes up every day more in love with me than the day before#

#Hatred lasts longer than love, but woven together, love and hate will keep us together forever#

Thesis: An enemy is an enemy. An enemy could never become a wife.
