Can People of Different Species Fall in Love?

[Longhaired silver-shaded cat cafe star receiving x retired German Shepherd military dog with MAX combat ability giving]

As the cat cafe's star, Lin Shao's job is to look adorable, let people pet him, lie flat, and lounge around collecting dried fish.

Life could have stayed this wonderful forever.

Until the owner brought home that retired military dog.

From then on, Lin Shao's life of lounging around came to an end.

His secret stash of dried fish was confiscated.

His sunbathing naps were interrupted by "surprise inspections."

The dog even came over to sniff him whenever he went to the bathroom.

Lin Shao decided to fight back and teach that clueless German Shepherd a lesson.

The plan was perfect, and everything went smoothly.

If not for that cat thief.

As someone grabbed his tail and dragged him toward a sack, Lin Shao had only one thought: I'm done for. I shouldn't have lured that stubborn dog away...

Crash! The sound of a display rack being knocked over.

A black figure sprang over like lightning.

Lin Shao landed on the floor and watched the German Shepherd swiftly take down the crook. For the first time, he thought...

Maybe this dog isn't so bad after all.

After being rescued, Lin Shao awkwardly pushed his most expensive dried fish toward the German Shepherd.

The dog looked at the dried fish, then at him. It lowered its head and gently licked Lin Shao's paw.

From then on, the cat cafe's atmosphere became a little strange:

When the German Shepherd made its rounds, it would go out of its way to rub against the scratching posts Lin Shao liked best, leaving its scent behind.

Afterward, Lin Shao would saunter over and rub against the very same spots for ages, covering up the dog's scent with his own.

Then the German Shepherd would come back and do it again...

The cycle went on and on, and neither of them ever got tired of it.

Watching the two "mortal enemies" act stranger and stranger, the manager finally couldn't help asking, "Are you two competing, or are you in love?"

The German Shepherd's ears twitched, and its tail brushed lightly across Lin Shao's back.

Lin Shao narrowed his eyes in contentment, purring softly.

Who would want to fall in love with that stubborn dog?

He was merely, with great reluctance, allowing it to be his personal bodyguard.
