Trying for a Baby [Marriage Before Love]

Shen Zhike and Gu Jianchong are in a marriage of convenience. They agree to have a child within three years.

After the wedding, they are polite to each other and never argue. Though they have no romantic feelings for each other, they fulfill every marital duty all the same.

Twice a week, like clockwork.

Until Gu Jianchong's grandfather falls gravely ill and is desperate for a grandchild, forcing them to move up their baby-making plans.

Both of them are busy, so they have no choice but to find time during the day.

In the CEO's lounge, they race against the clock.

√ The right people

√ The right position

√ The right temperature for conception

Then a work call comes in.

Shen Zhike: “...”

Gu Jianchong: “...”

They try other methods:

√ Taking folic acid

√ Drinking Chinese medicine

√ Drinking alcohol to set the mood

Still no pregnancy.

Shen Zhike takes the opportunity of a business trip to Brussels to get his fertility checked.

The doctor reaches a conclusion: Due to his constitution, getting pregnant may be difficult, but enough attempts will eventually bring about a change. Keep trying, and it will happen.

A whole lot of words to say nothing at all.

Shen Zhike relays the doctor's words to Gu Jianchong: “You also think that doesn't sound very reliable, right?”

Gu Jianchong smiles and shakes his head. “Since it's the doctor's advice, we should follow it.”

Shen Zhike: “???”

I think there's something a little off about the husband I married through an arranged match.

Later, Shen Zhike follows the doctor's advice and finally reaches that turning point: he gets pregnant, just as he hoped.

So Brussels really does have miracle doctors!

In short, it's a story about a young married couple racing against time to conceive.

1. Both are each other's first and only.

2. Top: A devoted husband and career-focused CEO who dotes on his wife.

3. Quite sweet, with no angst.

They had no feelings for each other when they married. Though the top is a CEO and a workaholic, he's not an oily domineering CEO. He's a devoted husband who takes care of his wife and gives him lots of houses, cars, clothes, little accessories, and so on...

The bottom also has his own career and isn't a pampered housewife. Shen, the lawyer, still goes to court while pregnant.
