The Raven Consultant of the Criminal Investigation Unit

* A female-centered setting

*

Shen Qingjian, captain of the Major Crimes Unit, caught a huge crow stealing a gem at a crime scene. Her colleagues all came over to watch.

After searching online, they discovered it wasn’t a huge crow but a protected raven, a Class II national animal.

Class II protected animals had bad tempers and pecked people at the drop of a hat, so Captain Shen planned to take it to the Forestry Bureau the next day.

While working overtime that night, she heard a noise from the temporary evidence room. She opened the door and came face-to-face with the raven, the evidence gem clamped in its beak.

The city criminal investigation squad gained a raven that refused to leave, along with a string of strange happenings:

A murderer’s case file happened to be among the scattered documents. The suspect in a photograph, whose face had been pecked through, turned out to be the killer. A fugitive who had been hiding for years was exposed by a flock of crows...

Strange major cases became more frequent, but the case clearance rate soared.

At the commendation ceremony, Shen Qingjian looked at the raven leisurely preening on her shoulder, her gaze profound.

During an arrest operation, Shen Qingjian fell into a trap. As she lay seriously injured, the absurd theory she had long kept hidden in her heart was proven true.

The raven was like a sharp sword hidden in a black scabbard, its edge laid bare.

Black feathers flew, and that figure seemed both immortal and demonic.

“You’re remarkably dull-witted.”

Her words were like a demon’s spell. Unable to keep her eyes open, Shen Qingjian fell into the woman’s warm embrace.

Bonus scene:

A newly transferred captain of the Major Crimes Unit heard that the squad had a raven consultant who could help solve cases, and jokingly asked the new squad captain to hand it over.

The young captain glanced at the raven on her shoulder and smiled. “It’s a protected animal. You can’t keep it as a pet, and it’s not mine.”

The next moment, the precious protected animal pecked the captain’s shoulder, making her hiss in pain.

The next day, the miraculous raven consultant didn’t show up for work, and the captain spent the whole day rubbing her lower back.
