The Sky Screen Spoils the Plot: I Am the First Insect Queen

After transmigrating into the insect world, Jiang Jiang's survival rules were simple: keep a low profile, stay in disguise, and work hard.

That was until a sky screen appeared out of nowhere and broadcast news that shook the universe.

The insect race's Mother, unseen for three thousand years, would descend here and lead her people to glory.

Everyone in the universe knew that without their Mother, the insect race had long since become the most unhinged calamity. Now hope had been rekindled, and the calamity was about to gain its master. The entire race went mad, scouring every inch of the land to find their supreme will.

Jiang Jiang munched on synthetic nutrient paste, thoroughly enjoying the universe-wide search-for-a-relative livestream. He gave the insect race a thumbs-up for their dedication and prayed their Mother would ascend the throne soon, so interstellar freight could run smoothly and prices would stop skyrocketing.

Then one day, he was stunned to discover that the face of the Mother, magnified across the sky screen, was his own!

At that moment, Jiang Jiang was utterly distraught.

He looked at the wages in his account, which he hadn't even had time to enjoy yet, thought about next week's work schedule, and asked a question that came from the depths of his soul:

"Before I run away, can you pay me my wages?"
