Spirit walkers work in every profession. By day, they lead their own lives. By night, they take on assignments from the Gates of Hell and help ghosts escape their predicaments.

Yan Yi, a washed-up actress with barely any fame, is one of the spirit walkers chosen for the job.

By day, she slacks off in the entertainment industry. By night, she earns bounties from the Gates of Hell. Her life is both exciting and peaceful.

Until one day, she receives a new assignment and unexpectedly runs into Nan Yan, who suddenly retired from public life a few years ago.

She thinks he's the target of her assignment, but it turns out he's her rival.

The mission fails because of his appearance. Just as Yan Yi hangs her head in disappointment, she hears him ask, "Want to become the lord of the Gates of Hell?"

Yan Yi thinks he was right to retire, because he's already gone mad.
