Writing this has been a little painful, so I plan to finish the whole story before posting it.

Short version:

Shou's perspective: An accident on the way home makes him the prophesied savior, and he picks up a boyfriend (?) along the way. Then begins his chaotic journey to save the world.

Gong's perspective: After finally escaping from the research institute, his little boyfriend forgets him and he goes berserk. He gets entangled with him all over again, protects him on the way to becoming the savior, then quietly takes none of the credit.

Rough synopsis:

The fog zones descend, and their monsters invade the human world, heralding the end of the world. Some humans then begin to evolve, gaining abilities to fight the monsters, and the Fog Zone Cleanup Bureau is established.

As an utterly ordinary fog-zone hunter, Cheng Shuang only wants to take on more jobs and earn enough to retire in the apocalypse.

But things don't go as he wishes.

Not only is he the savior from the prophecy, he's also being stalked by a madman.

Fine, he can be the savior. But why has nobody told him how to save the world?

And while they're at it, can someone take the madman following him away?

Cheng Shuang gets off work, and the madman follows him home.

Cheng Shuang takes a job and heads out, and the madman comes along.

Cheng Shuang talks to someone else, and the madman goes berserk and picks a fight with them.

But the madman isn't completely crazy. Sometimes he's actually pretty dependable.

When Cheng Shuang nearly gets spotted by a monster on their first meeting, the madman helps him.

When Cheng Shuang has no idea what to do at the opera house, the madman gives him a clue.

When Cheng Shuang can't face his past self in the laboratory, the madman helps him confront what's inside.

But why does this madman named Cheng Lin claim to be his boyfriend?

Cheng Shuang is sure he never had a boyfriend.

* One-on-one pairing. The shou isn't the strongest from the start; he's a protagonist who grows over time.

* Neither of them is normal. Cheng Shuang is sick, and Cheng Lin is even sicker.
