What If Zhang Sheng Were a Woman?

I am Hongniang, Miss Yingying's personal maid.

The only thing that matters to me in this life is keeping her safe.

Under the moonlight, I first met Zhang Sheng. The young master was refined and gentle, like a piece of jade.

My lovestruck young mistress secretly gave him her heart, while that worldly young gentleman carefully advanced his plans. I stayed on guard at every turn.

When he climbed the wall to exchange verses, I called it lechery; when he helped her escape trouble at the temple, I called it scheming.

I was certain this was just another play by someone coveting the power of the Chancellor's household.

Until that night, when the breeze was cool and the dew fresh.

I brought in tea and, amid the wavering candlelight, stumbled upon the truth beneath the faded blue robe:

Wrapped in plain silk, she concealed her womanhood; when she raised her eyes, her radiance outshone frost and snow.

She said, "My entire family has been destroyed. I can only use this broken body to fight for a title and seek justice."

A thunderbolt struck the silent room.

The "lecher" I had guarded against with all my heart was, in truth, a fellow traveler braving the storm alone.

Within the embroidered chamber, letters passed in secret.

The hands of three women quietly clasped together in their little corner of the world.

This world will one day become the peach blossom paradise we create with our own hands.

Theme: We seek neither the love of mandarin ducks nor the life of immortals. We ask only that sisters stand as one and build a world of our own.
