Our Chinese Elders Have Their Own Counseling

Jian Dan, a third-year psychology student, was poor and out of options.

Desperate to earn money to support his family, he gritted his teeth, put on a Taoist robe, picked up a fortune-telling compass, and set up a stall in the park.

"Fortune-telling by a half-immortal. Honest prices for young and old alike."

Client A is ready to die over a scumbag? "Miss, your birth chart clashes with his. This man will bring disaster to your whole family!"

Client B has terrible luck and is miserable? "Your fortune is inauspicious this year. Hang in there and things will get better!"

Business boomed, and Jian Dan felt he was getting closer and closer to being arrested.

Then he conned the younger sister of CEO Xing Li.

The handsome, wealthy CEO came to see him with a birth chart in hand. "Master, tell my fortune in love."

Jian Dan unleashed a stream of all-purpose fortune-telling patter, confident he had it in the bag.

Xing Li listened with a smile, then said unhurriedly, "But the birth chart I gave you was fake."

Jian Dan: ...I'm doomed.
