Trapped in an Elevator with My Boss and My Ex

[Pregnancy Before Love / Office Romance / Rekindled Love]

When Li Sheyue looked at the dark shadow on her pregnancy test, and the doctor told her she was four weeks pregnant, her mind went completely blank.

The father was her ex-boyfriend, Cheng Lingxi. The night they reunited, they couldn't stand each other. They had a huge argument and nearly came to blows after getting drunk.

The next morning, they both woke up in the same bed and nearly started fighting again.

A month later, she was pregnant with his child. What a twisted fate.

And things got worse. On her first day at her new job, she ran into Cheng Lingxi in the elevator. Her obnoxious ex had become her direct supervisor, and he picked on her at every turn.

After putting up with it for a while, Li Sheyue couldn't take it anymore and decided to resign. Then she ran into Cheng Lingxi in the elevator again. This time, their luck was worse: they were both trapped inside.

For some reason, Cheng Lingxi threw up right in front of her, as if openly mocking her and saying that being around her for even a moment made him sick.

Li Sheyue was ready to have a huge fight with him and then quit, but he frowned at her and asked, "Li Sheyue, are you pregnant?"

Li Sheyue stared at him in shock. "How did you know?"

Cheng Lingxi sneered. "Otherwise, why would I have morning sickness?"

Li Sheyue: ???

Three years ago, Cheng Lingxi had stolen Li Sheyue from his own younger brother, but that didn't stop him from hating her.

She was mercenary and calculating, yet cheap and detestable.

And just as expected, she eventually left without so much as a goodbye.

Li Sheyue finally got her wish and resigned. That night, she went out alone for a lavish meal and ran into Cheng Lingxi's younger brother. They hadn't seen each other in years, so they sat down to eat together.

They hadn't been there long when Cheng Lingxi suddenly appeared. He sat gently beside her and casually placed a pregnancy test report in front of his younger brother. "You're taking your sister-in-law out to eat and didn't even tell me? What if you hurt her or your unborn nephew?"

His younger brother's smile stiffened.

After the meal, Li Sheyue was furious. "Did I ever marry you? Did I ever say I'd give you the baby? You shameless old man."

He coaxed her patiently. "Didn't you want the meat from the left cheek of a yellow-lip fish and its fish maw? I had it prepared at my place. Eat first, then you can curse me."

Later, after the baby was born, Li Sheyue looked at Cheng Lingxi sleeping exhaustedly in bed with their month-old child in his arms. She still couldn't quite wrap her head around it: how had she ended up marrying him and making him her husband?
