Accomplices

Rescued from a cruise ship accident, Long Shu wakes with no memories and nothing to her name.

When she has nowhere to turn, one man takes thoughtful care of her every day and pays all her expenses.

The man is handsome, taciturn, and cold, with a slight limp in his left leg. Every attempt she makes to get close to him is met with the coldest response.

He doesn't seem to like her.

If only his phone didn't contain a selfie of her in a flimsy nightgown, taken before she lost her memory.

Hoping to find a temporary place to settle down, Long Shu does everything she can to move into the man's home. Sure enough, the place is plastered with photos of the two of them together, but he refuses to say a word about their past.

Since she had been close enough to him to send him private photos, Long Shu works up her courage with a drink and slips something into the man's cup.

When she wakes, her phone rings beside her pillow.

With her eyes still closed, Long Shu answers. A young man's voice comes through: "Shen Zhuoqing, are you up?"

She realizes she picked up the wrong phone and answers casually, "He's still asleep."

The voice on the other end abruptly falls silent. After a long pause, he asks in disbelief:

"Long Shu, you're still sharing a bed with your brother at your age??"

Knowing she was wrong, Long Shu decides to turn over a new leaf and bolts without wasting a moment.

When Shen Zhuoqing finds her again, he looks like he's in a terrible state.

"This is the second time you've run away," he says calmly. "The last time, after you drugged me, you exposed everything between us. You said you wanted to be with me forever, and I believed you."

"Because of that, Father injured my leg."

He gives a small laugh. "And now you're telling me you've forgotten everything?"
