A Beauty Mark

“If I'd known from the start that it was all fake, you could have sent me every flower on Earth, and no one would have signed for them.”

On an early summer morning, Shen Zhuo'er rescues someone. The cowering Mei Yu is like a frail rabbit trapped behind a concrete wall. He's exhausted, and the white rabbit takes advantage of the moment.

Mei Yu says, “How can you be so effortlessly adorable?”

Shen Zhuo'er feels the muscles on his arms, looks at his washboard abs and thighs as black as if they'd been charcoal-grilled, and tilts his head.

Mei Yu says, “I'm crazy about you. How are you going to take responsibility for that?”

Shen Zhuo'er presses his lips together and says, “I want to cover your eyes. Those eyes, that mouth of yours... you're just too good at sweet-talking people.”

Mei Yu says, “You don't have any family, and neither do I. How about we become family to each other?”

Shen Zhuo'er is stunned. It's as if he's grasped the last thread in the world connecting him to someone else. He clutches it in his hand, even though it hurts so much he has to keep his teeth clenched.

Fireworks are beautiful. Sweet nothings are like butterflies dancing gracefully, their wings edged with blades. Shen Zhuo'er can't bear to destroy them, so he learns to tread carefully and keep his fists to himself.

He can't help falling in love with Mei Yu, the considerate, gentle, mature, dignified man who understands him, the captivating man who once gave him every color in the world.

What a pity that Mei Yu is a complete and utter liar. He's like a beauty mark: painful, but one that can only be removed.

Suave scoundrel, sweet-talking liar top (Mei Yu) × resilient, stubborn bottom who grows against the odds (Shen Zhuo'er)
