There's Wind on the Mountain

Blurb:

She has to think of something and find a strong, healthy man as soon as possible. Otherwise, she won't be able to farm the six mu of land by herself...

In the middle of the night, Huang Yuetong is woken by shouting. She jolts upright. "Oh no! The bandits are coming down the mountain!"

Huang Yuetong takes one sister by each hand and starts running with the villagers. But after a couple of steps, she suddenly stops.

"Bandits? Men!" Her eyes light up. She leads her sisters back home, grabs a laundry bat, and crouches in the dark beside the door. She tells the girls behind her, "Whether we'll have a man in the house from now on depends on tonight."

The two little girls, as skinny as bean sprouts, nod with solemn faces and clutch the hemp rope in their hands.

On a dark, windy night, it's the perfect time to seize a man. Huang Yuetong picks her moment, lets out a shout, jumps up, and clubs the shadow rushing toward her. The two little girls rush in and tie him up from all sides.

After daybreak, Huang Yuetong pushes open the door, one hand on her aching back, and limps out of the room. She meets her sisters' anxious, hopeful gazes and smiles. "It's done. You'll have a brother-in-law from now on!"

The Male Lead's Story:

Du Mengshan has a heart devoted to serving his country. But not even two days after he arrives at the military camp, the Northern Yan court collapses. The camp falls into chaos, and the soldiers scatter in every direction.

Hearing that bandits are causing trouble in a nearby village, Du Mengshan decides to investigate. But as soon as he enters a village, before he can even see where the bandits are, someone clubs him over the head.

When he opens his eyes again, a teary-eyed little girl is in his arms, gazing at him with a rice bowl. "Brother-in-law, my tummy's hungry~"

He thinks he's dreaming. He closes his eyes and opens them again, only to find another little girl. "Brother-in-law, time to eat~"

It all seems absurd. He raises a hand to cover his eyes and tries to think back over the previous day. He hears soft footsteps, lowers his hand, and discovers that yet another girl has appeared in the room.

She is holding a bowl of noodle soup and says gently, "Husband, get up and eat."

His mother didn't give him that name for nothing. Not only can he dream of mountains, he can dream of a lovely wife too...
