Pregnant with a Stranger's Child

The young master of the wealthy Su family in the capital, Su Chenran, is as lovely as a jade immortal.

Many people secretly covet him,

hoping to marry this delicate, beautiful young man and cherish him at home.

Who could have known that this delicate flower had already been deflowered by an unknown man on a drunken, hazy night, robbed of his innocence?

The frail young man was pinned against the brocade quilt, the stranger's hands gripping his waist as he took him completely, inside and out.

A little over two months later, his snowy-white, flat belly began to swell gradually:

He was carrying an illegitimate child!

Su Chenran spent his days in dread, rubbing his slightly rounded belly and feeling that his life was ruined.

Unexpectedly, on the day the victorious army returned, the God of War, Chu Xiao, came to the Su residence and demanded to see him.

The man looked at his swollen belly, his gaze deep. "That night at Zuixian Tower five months ago, it was you. I've been looking for you for a long time."

The cold-faced general treasured him like the most precious thing in the world.

He formally petitioned the court, and, with phoenix crown and embroidered robes, welcomed him into his home as his principal spouse.

Rumors spread through the capital at once, everyone laughing that the cold-faced God of War had picked up another man's castoff.

Chu Xiao, however, announced without hesitation:

Su Chenran was the principal spouse he would marry with all the proper rites and betrothal gifts,

and the child in his belly was of Chu Xiao's legitimate bloodline.

At these words, all the rumors were reduced to dust.

"I'll spend the rest of my life making up for what I owe you that night."

Beneath the warm red canopy, he gently kissed the rosy pregnancy mark on Su Chenran's forehead.

"From now on, whoever bullies you is an enemy of me, Chu Xiao."
