Why Is Assistant Lin Like This?

Lin Yan is a Beta who has been by Chi Yu's side for seven years.

As the second-in-command of the Chi Group, Lin Yan manages Chi Yu's personal life and the company's affairs with impeccable skill. She is flawless in every way.

Until the night of the banquet, when Chi Yu accidentally drank a glass of wine brought by a server and went into heat ahead of schedule.

After Lin Yan took him back to the hotel, Chi Yu, on the verge of losing control, trapped her in the room for three whole days.

Things spiraled out of control.

The Alpha, completely overwhelmed, had no idea who the other person was.

Lin Yan had no intention of changing the superior-subordinate relationship between her and Chi Yu.

She kept the whole thing to herself.

Three months later, a crack appeared in Lin Yan's otherwise flawless life.

Pregnant?! But he's a Beta!

Chi Yu had been having a terrible time lately.

That drugged glass of wine had left him spending three days of his heat with a stranger.

He felt dirty.

Worst of all, his perfect executive assistant, who worked all 365 days of the year, was taking leave. And the reason was apparently: bed rest to protect the pregnancy?!

After hearing that Lin Yan planned to keep the child and leave the father behind, Chi Yu began working out how to become the child's stepfather.
