Avoidant Attachment Syndrome

On the third day of being trapped in the snow, Ming You sighed regretfully. "If I'd known I was going to die here, I would've been brave enough to sleep with my dream guy before I came."

At the time, she and Tan Shuo were the only ones in the car.

The snow had closed the mountain road. Tan Shuo held the last cigarette in the car between his fingers, and pale smoke drifted over through the slightly open window.

He turned to Ming You, his handsome face seemingly devoid of worldly desire, and asked, "Want to try me?"

After escaping death, Ming You and Tan Shuo tacitly returned to their pure client-and-contractor relationship.

During a break at work, a friend asked Tan Shuo curiously, "You said last time you'd met someone you wanted to marry. What happened after that?"

Tan Shuo lowered his eyes and picked up the proposal Ming You had submitted. Remembering how she had described her "dream guy" that day, his usually cool face showed a rare hint of restrained delight. "The young woman has liked me for years. She's shy, so there's no need to rush."

With that, he headed out with the document.

In a corner of the break area, Ming You happened to be chatting with a colleague.

The colleague asked her, "You said last time that you accidentally slept with your dream guy. Didn't you try to take things further?"

Ming You's fingers flew across the keyboard. Looking listless, she replied, "Yeah, I slept with him. The experience was... just okay. What more is there to develop?"

Tan Shuo's smile froze in an instant.

At university, he was the shining star everyone looked up to, a famous campus figure. She was just an ordinary student, completely unremarkable among the crowd.

They were two parallel lines that could never cross.

So Tan Shuo was simply the safest and most suitable person for Ming You to secretly admire during her dull and tedious student days.

And having her secret crush come true was never part of her plan.
