Early Spring in Kano

- Su Ci, sometimes I miss you so much, but I know the person I miss isn't the you standing right here. Do you know why? - I don't. 1 After moving to Luye, A Mian discovers she has a strange illness that lets her see monsters. The trees and streams on Mount Lu, the wild rabbits and foxes running through the hills: she becomes good friends with all of them. They're all monsters. Su Ci is a monster, too. But she likes him. They spend many days together, and they are all lovely. 2 Grandma says every creature on Mount Lu has a spirit, and that there was once someone who loved them dearly. In summer, he built them shelters from the rain. In winter, he invited them to warm themselves by his fireplace. In autumn, they helped him harvest fruit. In spring, they sat together admiring the flowers and gazing at the moon. "What happened next?" A Mian asks. "Well, after that..." Grandma says, "A story needs to leave you in suspense if you want people to remember it." 3 Su Ci is A Mian's unanswered question. * Bittersweet ending | Fairytale style | Actually a healing story [Title taken from the internet.
