Borrowing a Light

Autumn in Lincheng is always bleak.

But outside COBRA, the early-morning noise never lets up.

Leaning in a corner by the side door, Li Xu takes the last cigarette from the pack and puts it between his lips.

The moment he looks up, he meets a pair of indifferent eyes.

That was the first time he saw Gu Yuqin.

His hand, reaching into his pocket for a lighter, stops halfway. Li Xu studies the wealthy-looking man before him with interest.

A smile glimmers in the slender young man's eyes, but never reaches them.

He tips his chin at Gu Yuqin.

"Hey, man, got a light?"
