You Smell So Good

Gu Nan is a beta who runs a fried chicken shop near Alliance A University. Its great food and low prices have earned it rave reviews.

One ordinary night, he came home smelling of fried chicken as usual and stepped into the elevator, where a clueless Alpha who'd hurried after him confessed his feelings.

The big-dog-like Alpha held his hand, eyes shining. "Hello, I... I fell in love with your pheromones at first sniff! Please go out with me!"

Gu Nan: "...No."

Alpha: "Huh? Why?"

Facing the other guy's almost-tearful gaze, Gu Nan answered without mercy. "First, I don't know you."

Alpha: "I'm sorry, I forgot to introduce myself! Please give me another chance!"

Gu Nan: "Second, I'm a beta. I don't have pheromones."

Alpha: "That's impossible! You smell so good! I definitely..."

Gu Nan: "Third, I don't date clueless Alphas who can't tell the smell of food from pheromones."

Alpha: "..."

Gu Nan thought it was just a funny little misunderstanding. But the next day, he saw the young man waiting in front of his fried chicken shop with a resume.

"My name is Lu Xing, and I'm a third-year computer science student!" The clueless Alpha held up his resume. "I want to work here!"

Gu Nan: "Why are you showing me your data models if you want to work at a fried chicken shop?"

Lu Xing: "Uh, to... prove I'm not stupid?"
