New story now available: The Sickly Beauty Only Knows How to Coax the Little Fox
A gloomy beauty with an intense possessive streak who blushes when teased [Lou Yin] x an amnesiac NPC who escaped from an instance, never forgets to act, flirts with everyone but only gets through to one person [Shu An]
Shu wakes up in a horror instance with no memory, only a cold reminder from the System.
[The player has been deployed to the instance. Make sure they meet their end here...]
After finally escaping the basement, Shu An comes across players with two eyes, a nose, and a mouth, and cheerfully assumes she's a "player" who was deployed to the instance too.
"Oh, so I'm a player."
The eerie being who had followed her: ...
The eerie being didn't understand, but respected her decision and played along.
That is, until Shu An insisted on leaving the instance, then gave the eerie being a provocative smile right before disappearing.
The eerie being who was her partner: ???
When Shu An entered other instances later, she still got the same persistent message from the System telling her to hunt down the players.
Shu An firmly believed the System was trying to "sow discord" among the players, and completely ignored its warnings.
System: Do you even remember what you are???
Though she had amnesia, Shu An never forgot how to act. In the instances, she was especially fond of playing an "innocent, helpless little flower," and the players all agreed she was a soft touch, easy to manipulate and sacrifice.
After being thrown out to be sacrificed time and time again, Shu An grew especially excited and quietly waited for the eerie beings to show up.
The pitiful girl at the orphanage clung tightly to her, glaring warily at everyone. "Mine."
The noble, aloof white fox beastkin kissed and nibbled at her, not wanting anyone near her. "Mine."
A mermaid so beautiful she took your breath away tied me to a huge shell bed. "Mine." Shu An still had no idea what was so scary about the eerie beings who cuddled up to her and covered her in kisses...
Shu An was also quite troubled by how many identical-looking eerie beings liked her. They all seemed desperate to claim a title.
"Why haven't you gone home yet?"
Shu An: Why does everyone want to take me home???
Shu An silently pushed away the eerie being who kept rubbing against her, acting "cold" like a heartless lover.
"I can't give you a title."
Shu An regretted saying that right away. She might not be giving them titles, but that didn't stop the eerie beings from claiming one for themselves, leaving her exhausted and grumpy every morning.
Shu An "luckily" survived the instances, but the players were outraged by her "fraternizing" with the instance NPCs.
Afraid Shu An would join forces with the eerie beings, they immediately banded together to report her to the Main System.
Yet Shu An, anxiously waiting alongside the players for the result, received this cold reply from the Main System:
[No abnormalities detected.]
The players fell into despair, but Shu An suddenly understood and took it as the Main System's approval and endorsement.
Shu An thought: Great! She could keep having sweet romances with the best-looking eerie beings in the instances.
Until Shu An discovered that every eerie being she'd loved and kissed had the same face.
Shu An gazed gloomily at the face she'd seen countless times, a face that perfectly matched her tastes, and complained in exasperation.
"Why do they all look alike? This System is so lazy, mass-producing the same face for all of you."
Lou Yin: Is my wife tired of this face of mine???
The System, being criticized: Is that even something a person would say???
Lou Yin kissed her until her face turned red, then held her softly in his arms as he watched the players below flee from the eerie beings pursuing them.
"Darling, can we go home now?"
"Why would I go home with you?"
"Because you're not human."
"You're insulting me."
