I'm the Only One in the World Who Knows How to Tame Beasts

When Song Che opened his eyes, the world was being swallowed by a gaping maw.

Skyscrapers crumbled beneath massive claws. Screams were drowned out by roars, and humanity fought back with firearms, but it was like tickling the strange beasts.

They called them "Calamities," a byword for destruction. The only choice was to fight them with everything they had.

Then Song Che came across a video from the front lines. When he saw the "Calamity" treating a tank like a toy, his pupils shrank.

Wasn't that an Ironclad Mane Wolf, the kind you could tame in the beginner village of Beast Taming Era, the game he'd spent five years grinding in his previous life?

In the video, soldiers charged through a sea of blood, while the comments filled with "My condolences" and "Kill! Kill! Kill!"

Song Che silently closed the page.

The whole world was locked in a desperate struggle against the "Calamities." He alone knew that these so-called "Calamities" could be petted, fed, and trained, and could even protect humanity in turn.

He tried reciting an in-game calming command to a Windwing Bird that had burst through the window.

The next second, the ferocious beast that had been about to tear him apart withdrew its claws and fangs. It tilted its head, rubbed its beak against his palm, and let out a plaintive chirp.

Song Che: "..."

It seemed he'd discovered the biggest bug in the world.

Even more absurdly, that night as he slept, a voice told him: You are the chosen one, the last hope of this world.

So his transmigration hadn't been an accident. This dying planet had begged and pleaded for him to come as its "Savior."

Later, the whole internet exploded.

A previously unknown livestream suddenly went viral. On camera, a young man sat cross-legged in the ruins, patiently coaxing a giant bear as big as a hill:

"Come on, Big Bear, put those claws away. Smashing residential buildings is wrong... Here's an energy core. Good bear."

The giant bear tucked its paws against its chest with a pitiful whimper.

Comments in the livestream:

[??? Am I seeing things? Is that the Rampaging Earth Bear that can kill an entire squad with one swipe?]

[The person above, that's not all. Look behind him. Isn't that the Windwing Bird that toppled a mountain last week? Is it bringing this guy branches?]

Song Che watched his follower count skyrocket and changed the livestream title:

"Learning to Tame Beasts from Scratch: Trying to Teach the Whole World How to Behave (Humans and Beasts Alike), Today Too."

The whole world: "..."

Reporter: "Mr. Song, what is your goal now?"

Song Che stroked the golden-scaled beast beside him, its forked tongue flicking out, and replied calmly, "I hope to get everyone certified in civilized beast-keeping within five years."

The strange beasts, nodding in unison: (super fierce) Roar! (Translation: Okay!)

Theme: Great compassion in one's heart
