[War God Meng Gong Reborn with Guo Jing's Starting Kit]
In the sixth year of the Chunyou era, Meng Gong, the Southern Song dynasty's last great war god, died coughing up blood in bitter indignation after being persecuted by a foolish emperor and treacherous ministers.
"I spent thirty years reclaiming the Central Plains, but now I cannot fulfill my ambition!"
At the end of his life, grief and anger consuming him, he finally understood what his ancestor Yue Fei must have felt before his death.
He hated the unjust emperor of Song for ruining the lives of so many heroes!
When he opened his eyes again, he had become a Han Chinese shepherd boy in a Mongol tribe, decades in the past.
From the start, he unexpectedly saved Tolui and swore brotherhood with him. He became an apprentice to the divine archer Jebe, and Genghis Khan took such a liking to him that he wanted to make him the Golden Saber Prince Consort.
Meng Gong: ???!
He assessed the situation.
There was no way he could go to the Song court, unless he wanted to be killed all over again.
The Jin kingdom was even more out of the question. A descendant of Yue Fei's army would never betray Yue Fei's legacy and serve the Jin!
For now, he had no choice but to stay with the Mongols and take things one step at a time...
Many years later, his second nephew (?), the puppet ruler Kublai Khan, was forced to abdicate in favor of his powerful imperial uncle and sent to the Americas to rule as a king.
The new emperor sat high upon his throne, gazing at the officials of every people from across Europe, Asia, and Africa as they vied to prostrate themselves before him. He looked at the lofty buildings in the distance and the faces of every skin tone from all around the world filling the city, and could not help recalling that afternoon when he had first left the grasslands.
"Sigh," Meng Gong said with heartfelt sincerity. "At first, I truly only wanted to become a great general, destroy the Jin and the Song, and avenge the humiliation of Jingkang."
When had his ambition begun to change?
Back then, he had only just returned from the dead, and his soul was unstable every night.
He often passed through cracks in time and space to reach the future, traveling from one classroom to another.
A spotless medical laboratory in America, a mathematics and science research institute in Russia, a practical class at a German machine factory, a volunteer classroom in the Nordic social welfare system, and an old professor in Cambridge who patiently explained the Renaissance...
He was deeply shaken, and a fierce fire began to burn inside him.
The world was so vast. Why shouldn't it all belong to Huaxia?
Since the Mongol Empire of history had been a great power spanning Europe and Asia, he would surpass it tenfold and establish a powerful, inclusive world empire.
(PS: The inspiration comes from a theory that Guo Jing in The Legend of the Condor Heroes was based on Meng Gong. So this is an alternate timeline where General Meng gets Guo Jing's original script, but the setting is still based on real history, not martial arts fiction!)
(Although General Meng is a formidable fighter and a great war god, he's gentle by nature and as beautiful as jade. Even after being reborn, he needs time to become a decisive, far-sighted ruler. So he'll get a golden finger: in his dreams, he can attend classes in the future!)
(General Meng definitely won't harm Han Chinese soldiers or civilians, but he'll show no mercy when fighting the western regions, Europe, Vietnam, Japan, and other places. The leaders of the Jin and Southern Song will all get the treatment of being exhumed and mutilated. Zhao Gou will of course be dug up, his bones ground to dust, and his ashes offered at Yue Fei's shrine...)
