Help! The beginning of this apocalyptic novel gripped my heart! Who is still looking for unconventional doomsday stories? I stayed up until three in the morning reading this book, and it was so intense that I haven't recovered yet! On the day when the red moon hung overhead, the city suddenly lost power, and the people on the street began to turn into "walking zombies" who could only roar. The protagonist Lin Ye had just grabbed half a bottle of water from the convenience store when he ran into a neighbor's aunt chasing and slashing his own child with a kitchen knife - no supernatural powers were awakened. Goldfinger does not have the thrill of stocking up in advance, but only the suffocating reality of survival: hiding behind the trash can and listening to the footsteps counting down, blood splattered on the face when slicing the infected person's throat with broken glass, and even taking a sip of rainwater to see if there are any floating eggs. What strikes me the most is the details! In order to save a pregnant stray dog, the protagonist was almost surrounded. In the end, when he was holding the dog and chewing dry bread in the ruins, the dog protected him with its body. There is no forced sensationalism, but it is more distressing than fighting monsters and leveling up. Is there anyone who also loves this kind of "truth towards the end"?
