I highly recommend this one. I'm very picky about books, and this is one of the very few that kept me hooked all the way through, along with Ghost Blows Out the Light. It's plain and unadorned, but incredibly realistic. You can tell the author has lived through it themselves. It doesn't have all that flashy fantasy stuff.
