The Whole Internet Voted, and Not a Single Person Supported Me Forgiving Him

The day I gave birth, the pain nearly made me pass out. The nurse asked whether my husband, Shen Yan, wanted me to have an epidural.

But Shen Yan held up his phone and started a poll in his childhood friends' group chat:

"Should you get an epidural when giving birth?"

The group was instantly flooded with comments:

"Why bother? It'll affect the baby's intelligence!"

"So dramatic. Is she the only woman in the world who's ever given birth?"

Shen Yan shrugged. "Su Wan, everyone says no. Just bear with it."

A wave of agony hit, and I nearly clawed through the padded bed.

For three years of marriage, whenever I spent even ten yuan, he had to start a poll in the group chat.

It was all because my father desperately needed two hundred thousand yuan to save his life on our wedding day, and I borrowed the money from Shen Yan.

From then on, his childhood friends mocked me as a gold digger.

That was when he made this rule, claiming, "This is how I wash the stench of poverty off myself."

For my father's sake, I swallowed my anger, believing that having his child would earn me some respect.

Then, ten minutes later, his female best friend posted a contract for a luxury apartment worth two million:

"Brother Shen said I can spend his money without asking anyone to vote."

I wiped away my cold sweat and started a poll of my own, one that drew more than a million participants:

[My wife is dying in childbirth, and I refuse to get her an epidural. Then I turn around and give my female best friend two million. Do you support a divorce?]

Shen Yan's face went deathly pale. Weak as I was, I curled my lips into a cold smile:

"What's the rush? Isn't this your favorite kind of poll?"
