After Bearing Seven Sons and Leaving This World, the Power-Brokering Emperor Regretted Everything

After giving birth to four sons and two daughters for Xiao Changfeng over the course of ten years, I went into labor again.

As the baby's head emerged, Xiao Changfeng rushed into the delivery room with a fortune from the Imperial Astronomical Bureau and clasped my hand tightly.

"Lingwei, the Imperial Preceptor says this child has an extraordinary destiny. Let Zhaohua raise him. She'll be delighted!"

"I promise you, I'll let you raise the next one yourself."

Song Zhaohua had taken my eldest son and my third son to raise, but she thought they weren't clever or exceptional enough to help secure her position as Empress.

She gave the rest of my children to various concubines like rewards, using them to win people's loyalty.

Though I'd given birth again and again, not one of my children had been allowed to stay by my side.

Now the seventh child, whom Xiao Changfeng had promised I could raise myself, was about to be taken away on a whim of Song Zhaohua's.

I bit my lips until they turned purple and shook my head, voiceless.

But then I suddenly began hemorrhaging and passed out.

When I regained consciousness, I frantically reached toward the pillow beside me.

My maid Hehua said, unable to bear it, "Your Highness, the Fifth Prince has already been sent to the Empress..."

The last thread holding me together snapped.

The System's voice rang in my mind:

[Host has completed the task of giving birth to seven children. Would you like to return immediately in three days?]

Without hesitation, I chose yes.
