The Empress Who Emerged from a Nunnery

In the remote mountain village of Yangjiawan, the village bully Yang Huaizhong holds everyone under his thumb. Under the guise of healing the sick, he puts on a show of mystical powers and sets up a fake regime of his own. Using bizarre treatments in a secret chamber, he controls the villagers and holds the whole community hostage. With a single diagnosis of a “strange illness,” he monopolizes medicine and runs rampant through the village.

Most bizarre of all is Hong Aihua, wife of former village chief Yang Dejin. For two years, she has repeatedly fallen into unexplained comas, and only Yang Huaizhong’s secret-chamber treatment can bring her around.

An incurable strange illness forces a respectable village chief to bow in submission and become a henchman of evil forces, while the entire village is held firmly in their grip.

Yang Juhua, who has inherited her family’s unrivaled medical expertise, stumbles into the fray and sees through the layers of deception at a glance. She joins forces with the kindhearted young man Yang Huaizhi, using medicine to dispel falsehoods and strategy to expose the dark secrets. Gathering evidence in secret and dismantling the traps step by step, she vows to reveal the truth behind the secret chamber and destroy the evil scheme entrenched in the mountain village.
