Guarding Grasslands in the Northwest: A Mother Leopard Insists on Getting Me a Government Job

The day Xi Minghong returned to the Northwest to inherit 20,000 mu of pastureland, all he wanted was to be a quiet streamer.

Then, on his third day streaming, a female snow leopard went into a difficult labor, and he steeled himself to help deliver her cubs.

Four cubs were born. The mother leopard picked up the weakest one in her mouth and placed it right in his arms.

The livestream chat exploded: “Is the mother leopard... entrusting her cub to him?”

“Streamer, run!”

“Run from what? That look says, ‘You couldn't raise it even if you tried. I don't think much of you!’”

Xi Minghong: “...I'm just a herdsman.”

The chat: “You call a PhD in veterinary medicine from Huannong a herdsman?”

Nanming Zoo sent him a private message in the middle of the night: “Bro, let us take the cubs. Name your price.”

Xi Minghong: “I've already got a job. The mother leopard gave it to me.”

The zoo: “???”

Eventually, everyone online knew about him:

In the Northwest, there was a licensed snow leopard dad who rode a motorcycle to patrol the pastures by day and wiped the cubs' butts at night, while 200,000 viewers watched the livestream and played dad from afar.

The zoo visited him three times, but he turned down their job offer every time.

The mother leopard lounged on a mountaintop in the sun, too lazy to even lift an eyelid.

“I picked their dad. Who do you think you are, trying to take him?”
