The Great Dao Returns to One: The First Man of Hongmeng

When Zhou Yu was five, the Blood Fiend Sect slaughtered his entire village to refine blood. He was rescued and raised by Qingfengzi, a rogue cultivator. After Qingfengzi was murdered by his enemies, Zhou Yu endured in silence for ten years before infiltrating the Blood Fiend Sect with a cold-blooded resolve. Working from within and without, he wiped out the sect and awakened the bloodline of the ancient Ancestral Shaman Gonggong. He fused Daoist thunder arts, Confucian righteous energy, Legalist laws, Mohist mechanisms, and military formations, creating the Primordial Beginning Unveiled. He swore to prove the Dao through sheer power and transcend the Three Realms. At the time, the primordial world was in its final age, and a great tribulation of humanity was about to begin. Zhou Yu helped the state of Qin unify the mortal realm and gained the protection of its fortune, but also aroused the Sages' wariness. Moving among the forces of Chan, Jie, Buddhism, and the demons, he killed decisively and planned flawlessly, rising step by step from an obscure rogue cultivator to a regional overlord. When the tribulation struck, he formed the Shamanic Dao Alliance and united the Hundred Schools of Thought. During the Investiture of the Gods War, he slew Sages and Buddhas, then used the Heaven-Opening Axe to shatter the shackles of the Heavenly Dao. By proving the Dao through sheer power, he became an existence beyond the Sages. Yet even beyond the Heavenly Dao, shackles remained. Zhou Yu refused to merge with it, instead using supreme power to sever its mark and transcend the primordial world, roaming the chaos. Before departing, he left behind a Dao Seal to protect all living beings. Thus began a legend of defying fate and standing supreme above all: “I am the Heavenly Dao, and the Heavenly Dao is me.”
