I'm a Ghost in Great Qin, and the Officials Have Blown Their Cover

Ji Yan dies suddenly from overwork, then opens his eyes to find himself a transparent ghost floating beside the young Ying Zheng in Great Qin. He's also bound to the [Cyber Workplace Audit System].

He thought the court was full of exceptional people. But the moment the System scans them, he's left dumbfounded:

Great Qin is nothing but one giant slapdash operation!

Lü Buwei: an ambitious investor and a veteran shirker;

Li Si: a ruthless workaholic, obsessed with KPIs and promotions;

Zhao Gao: a toxic HR manager who specializes in cooking the books and stabbing people in the back.

Watching Ying Zheng still diligently study the art of rulership, Ji Yan pulls out a modern management handbook:

"Brother Zheng, forget the old ways. I'll teach you how to whip this workplace into shape!"

From that moment on, Great Qin's whole style goes off the rails.

To secure his year-end bonus, Li Si revises Qin law for three days and nights straight;

Wang Jian gets assigned to set up an assembly line for military equipment and exclaims that it's more fun than fighting wars;

Jing Ke has only just begun his assassination attempt when Ying Zheng sends him off to work in diplomatic public relations.

Ying Zheng carries out reforms, promotes new laws, and strengthens infrastructure, taking Ji Yan's advice on everything. Great Qin's national power surges ahead.

Years later, all six rival states have been conquered.

Ying Zheng points toward distant Rome, his eyes burning with anticipation:

"Master Ji, once we've conquered that territory, can Great Qin go straight public and ring the opening bell?"
