The Hidden Dragon on the Battlefield

Synopsis of The Hidden Dragon on the Battlefield

The war zone is thick with spies, and danger lurks in the shadows. A covert struggle without a single shot fired is about to begin.

Jing Nan is the most unremarkable clerical officer in the War Affairs Office. To his colleagues, he is dull and taciturn, with no ambition whatsoever: an invisible nobody who wastes his days in an idle post. Even his wife resents him for being timid and useless. But no one knows that beneath this painfully ordinary exterior lies a hidden blade that has been waiting in the shadows for more than a decade.

Surrounded by wolves and tigers in the War Affairs Office, he must withstand the probing of a cunning, suspicious, and ruthless director; evade the attacks of an action chief hungry for quick results and the investigations of a passionate, tenacious communications clerk; and keep clear of the enigmatic, stern inspection chief, the profit-hungry logistics chief, and the naive, diligent orderly.

Every step is fraught with danger, and every corner conceals a trap. He conceals his identity with extraordinary patience and passes along critical intelligence in the most discreet way, never leaving the slightest trace. Everyone is hunting for the mole, suspecting each person around them, yet no one ever looks toward this utterly ordinary junior clerk.

When the dust settles, his sharp edge is finally sheathed. The nameless hero disappears into the world, leaving only his faith behind. Years later, an old seal reveals a shocking secret, and the world finally learns of this long-buried tale of espionage!
