The Great Detective Di Renjie

Set during the Wu Zhou era, The Great Detective Di Renjie unfolds through four parts and eight cases, showcasing contests of wit amid the political turmoil of the Tang dynasty. From the bloody massacre of a Turkic diplomatic mission to the curse of the Blood Eagle, every case conceals a double struggle between court intrigue and the forces of the martial world. As Di Renjie and Li Yuanfang, a pair of detectives combining brilliance and courage, solve bizarre cases such as the Youzhou rebellion and the treasure map of Huzhou, they embody the principle of governance, “A sage has no fixed opinions, but takes the people’s concerns as his own,” while blending modern detective fiction with the traditional courtroom mystery.
