Moonlight on Frost and Snow

“You’re so pretty, big sis. Wanna be friends?” That was the first thing Orm said to Kuang Lingling.

Kuang Lingling kept a blank expression. “Stay away from me. Your hair is distracting.”

Who could have guessed that this woman in black, who found her hair distracting, would later fly into a murderous rage when she was gravely wounded, break into the detention room at night when she was forced into an arranged marriage, and take her hand as she said, “Come with me.”

“Big sis, your ears are red.”

“...It’s hot.”

From their first meeting in a secret realm to the resonance of their twin swords, from the whole city’s condemnation to standing side by side on the White Steps. Some said they had no shame; others said they were unworthy of being young leaders.

But so what?

“Big sis, after this battle, let’s find somewhere nobody can bother us and live there.”

“All right.”

“Really?”

Kuang Lingling turned to look at her, a rare smile appearing on her face. “Yes. I want to be with you.”

You ask how far two women can go?

They’ll spend a lifetime answering you.

“Big sis, are my roasted sweet potatoes good?”

“...Not bad.”

“Just not bad? Let me try one too... Hey, you already bit it!”

Beneath the setting sun, the two shared a sweet potato. The Frostsnow Sword and Frostmoon Sword stood planted in the courtyard, their blades glimmering faintly.

One was cool and calculating, the other carefree and cheerful.

One didn’t learn how to love until she was thirty; the other knew at twenty-three that she had found the one for life.

“Big sis, let’s live like this for the rest of our lives.”

“All right.”

“You said yes again. Why are you so agreeable today?”

“Because it’s you.”

Because it’s you, you’re worth it.

Because it’s you, I have no regrets.

Because it’s you, in this life and the next, I want to be with you and you alone.
