You Sent Me Undercover, and I Became the Godfather of Northeast China?

"Bai Deshui, you've been undercover for three years. Have you got the Black Dragon Society's criminal evidence? Headquarters is ready to close in!"

The policewoman's voice crackled over the communicator, full of urgency.

Bai Deshui took a drag from his Huazi cigarette and looked at the world-class assassins in floral padded jackets kneeling before him. He sighed.

"Boss, if you don't close in soon, those old geezers are going to drape me in a yellow robe and make me the godfather of an international crime syndicate!"

Bai Deshui was the worst student at the police academy. By a twist of fate, he ended up undercover in the world's biggest gang. He lived by the principle, "If I keep my head down enough, danger can't catch me." Naturally stingy, he went by the code name Brother Shui and spent every day trying to slack off while earning his base salary.

But the underworld big shots had all gone completely off the rails!

He got so scared he fled on a shared bike, accidentally bringing down a scaffold and killing a rival boss.

The hall master was astonished. "He used the terrain perfectly and killed without a trace. This guy is a master schemer!"

He was banished to manage a bankrupt business, which he turned into a Northeast-style bathhouse to save money.

The chairman was ecstatic. "The greatest talents hide in plain sight! Brother Shui has built the world's top intelligence network right here!"

When Interpol finally broke in, ready to take everyone down at once, they were horrified to find the notorious cold-blooded assassins and underworld kingpins lined up in the bathhouse, calling out, "Brother Shui, can I get the vinegar scrub package too?"

Bai Deshui spread his hands. "I told you I'm just a good guy who wants to collect his pension. Do you believe me?"
