Mapping the Sea of Stars: The Light of Human Reason

Following the two-part structure of traces and origins used by the Great Master Zhiyi in his interpretation of the Lotus Sutra, this book presents core Tiantai teachings, including the Five Periods and Eight Teachings, the Three Contemplations in One Mind, the Three Thousand Realms in a Single Thought, and the Six Stages of Buddhahood, in accessible modern language. It preserves the lineage of the essential framework of doctrine and contemplation, while making it easier for people today to directly embrace the wondrous mind of the Lotus Sutra.
