The Junior Disciple of Renjia Town

Lin Wan, an archaeology student, falls off a cliff and is reborn as the frail young lady of the Ren family in Republican-era Renjia Town. To repay a debt of gratitude, Uncle Jiu takes her on as an unofficial disciple and gives her the Taoist name Qingyi. In the back courtyard of the mortuary, she draws talismans with Qiusheng and Wencai and takes night watch with them. Amid the ringing of a copper bell, a small bronze pendant quietly awakens her legacy of the mystic arts. Accepted as an unofficial disciple at eight, she burns incense to honor her ancestors at fifteen and formally becomes Uncle Jiu’s disciple. From identifying yin objects and drawing protective talismans to guarding a mass grave alone and joining forces to break a thousand-year-old corpse curse, with seven years of dedication, she proves that a woman, too, can uphold the heavens when guided by the Tao. Scary? Yes! Laughter? Yes! Brotherhood? Even more! This is the Taoist life of Renjia Town, and the righteous epic she wrote with her own hands.
