Uncle Jiu Fanfiction: After Everyone Dies

Uncle Jiu of the funeral home is dead. To be precise, he's clinging to life. The only way to survive is to help the Judge of the Underworld capture the Ghost King Qianmian Linglong, who escaped from the Infernal Prison into a world a hundred years in the future. That means he, a man from the Republic of China era, must travel to that future world as well. Qianmian Linglong is a master of disguise with a vile personality. Before Lin Jiu even encounters her, he meets a mysterious woman whose allegiances and nature are impossible to discern. She seems to have no martial arts skills, yet moves with uncanny prowess. She seems unlike an ordinary person, yet is utterly unremarkable. Her identity is special… and yet somehow, she seems just like him. Could she be Qianmian Linglong? One of her subordinates? Or one of her offshoots? … Fortunately, she isn't. Qianmian Linglong still hasn't shown herself, while tiny ripples have grown into towering waves. Is Huailou really going to be swallowed by the tsunami Qianmian Linglong unleashed? Lin Jiu won't let that happen. He has to capture Qianmian Linglong, and he has to get back home. Qiusheng and Wencai are waiting for him. But then Lin Jiu is suddenly told he can never go back. He's already dead… P.S. This is a female-oriented novel that leans heavily toward plot. There's a lot of setup early on, so it may feel a little wordy. If that's not for you, feel free to swipe away. This is my second story of this type. My other novel, Slender Waist, is a sweet romance, and the heroine isn't based on anyone. This one is more plot-driven. I don't have an outline, so I'll see where the story takes me. If I run out of plot later on, I'll make changes. The heroine in this novel is based on someone. After watching Heaven and Earth: The Gate of Eternity and The Phantom Lover several times, I'd like to ask everyone to picture the heroine with Wang Zuxian's face. Only an immortal could have a face like that, so thanks for letting my heroine share in some of her radiance.
