Chen Min's Zhuyou Healing

In the Great Xuan Dynasty, immortals and martial artists coexist, while medicine has fallen into decline. The ancient, orthodox shamanic healing tradition known as the Thirteen Branches of Zhu You has nearly been lost. Its talismans, incantations, blessings, invocations, prohibitions, registers, alchemy, acupuncture, spiritual arts, qi, techniques, formations, and methods have all become legend.

Chen Min comes from a fallen family of physicians. After failing the imperial examinations, he scrapes by as a traveling doctor in a small town. One day, while gathering herbs deep in the mountains, he rescues a dying old Daoist during a torrential downpour and flash flood. The old man is Daoist Xuanqing, the last hidden heir to Zhu You. He passes on his life's knowledge and the damaged Secret Register of the Thirteen Branches of Zhu You by transmitting it directly into Chen Min's mind.

From then on, Chen Min's mind becomes clear, and he can sense illness and karmic afflictions. At first, he dismisses these arts as unorthodox. But after using talismans and incantations himself to ward off evil spirits and cure terminal illnesses, he leaves home to wander the land, offering his medical skills to all. He treats strange afflictions that official physicians cannot handle: malignant tumors, lingering illnesses, parasitic poisons, demonic possession and madness, karmic curses, and blocked meridians causing infertility...

One astonishing case after another turns the disdain of renowned physicians, martial heroes, and nobles and officials into reverence. Yet the path to reviving this ancient art is fraught with danger: evil sects covet it, the imperial court has banned its practice, and powerful families scheme against one another...

As a humble traveling doctor, Chen Min advances step by step on the path to enlightenment. In the end, he restores the Zhu You lineage and becomes the revered Immortal Zhu You Physician of the Great Xuan Dynasty!
