In the seventeenth year of Chongzhen, Li Zicheng’s army reached the gates of the capital, and Emperor Chongzhen had already hung a white silk noose and prepared to hang himself.

Qin Feng, a Shenji Battalion deserter, charged up Coal Hill with a bloodied Type 38 rifle in hand and kicked over Chongzhen’s stool.

“Your Majesty, don’t die. I just crawled out of a pile of corpses in Nanjing, three hundred years from now.”

“If the Ming falls, Huaxia will become a living hell three hundred years later. The nation will be destroyed and its people wiped out. You’ll go down in history as a sinner.”

When Hanyang rifles faced the rebels’ shields, and mortars went up against the Eight Banners’ mounted archers...

Li Zicheng was stunned. “Why don’t your Ming troops have to light their guns?”

Dorgon went mad. “We were told our mounted archery was unmatched! How are we getting blasted into the sky before we can even get close?”
