I Had Just Graduated from Whampoa When the Japanese Invaded

Modern young man Lu Chengjun transmigrates to 1931, becoming a major and battalion commander in the Central Army Training Corps after graduating from the sixth class at Whampoa. He wants to serve his country with fervor, but soon finds himself caught in factional infighting. When the gunfire of the September 18 Incident rings out in the Northeast, he burns with anguish and frustration, eager to defend his country but unable to march north because of military orders. From the bloody meat grinder of Shanghai to the shattered walls of Taierzhuang, from the flames engulfing Wuhan to the foreign jungles of the Burma campaign, he leads an “Iron-Blooded Regiment” forged from a 500-man training battalion. Through fourteen years of national calamity, he uses tactical insight far ahead of his time and unwavering faith to carve a path through desperate circumstances. This is no lone hero’s legend, but an epic of ordinary people resisting the invasion. Every small moment in history they change costs them dearly in blood. When the triumphant song of victory finally rings out, he looks back and sees a land stained red with blood, while his brothers have become monuments.
