The Worry-Free Canteen Chronicles

Meng Qi, a veteran underworld civil servant and inheritor of Meng Po’s Soup, is sent to the mortal realm to gain experience as punishment for her outstanding “performance.” In a city back alley, she opens the “Worry-Free Canteen,” which stays open late into the night. Her customers are animal spirits wandering the mortal world and restless ghosts bound by obsessions. With bowl after bowl of soup that soothes the seven emotions and six desires, she trades for their stories and helps them let go of their fixations. Then one day, a cold-blooded CEO barges in. In truth, he is a wolf demon with a thousand years of cultivation, ensnared by a romantic tribulation, and he has arrogantly decided that Meng Qi is the “cure” fate has chosen for him. From then on, a clash of forceful advances and resistance unfolds alongside the healing routines of the late-night canteen. Amid the fragrant steam of food and stories, an unconventional romance about loneliness, obsession, and saving one another begins to simmer.
