My Childhood Friend Is a Taotie

As the heir to a hidden culinary master, Shen Nianxin leads a peaceful, cozy life teaching and cooking at her own little kindergarten. That is, until a mixed-race boy named Huo Xiaobao transfers in. He is as pretty as a porcelain doll, but refuses to eat so much as a bite of anything. When he goes on another hunger strike, Shen Nianxin serves him a simple bowl of scallion noodles she has just cooked, drizzled with sesame oil. The boy freezes, then bursts into tears. A pair of pitch-black horns suddenly pop out on his head, and his tail curls around her wrist as he sobs in a tiny voice, “Sister Niannian, I’ve been searching for your taste for three hundred years.” Only then does Shen Nianxin remember the little “Blackie” from her childhood, who used to follow her around the mountains with longing eyes before mysteriously disappearing. Now her kindergarten is home to her ancient ferocious-beast childhood sweetheart, a picky little Taotie, and all sorts of little demons disguised as human children, who keep showing up, lured by the aroma of her cooking. When the Demon Realm Administration and mysterious hunters arrive, her kindergarten cafeteria suddenly becomes the center of attention across all three realms.
