My Register of Grind Kings in the Underworld

Lu Chen, a judge in the underworld, has grown tired of a thousand years of civil service and voluntarily transfers to the “Office for Mediating Human Relationship Disputes.” His new job is to take over the lives of mortals on the brink of despair, avert their fated deaths, and earn merit. On his first assignment, he inhabits the body of an ace police detective, barely clinging to life in prison and saddled with a monstrous wrongful conviction. Facing predatory prison bullies, a corrupt insider with power over everything, and a name etched into the original owner's remaining memories, Lu Chen opens the merit ledger he carries with him and sighs at the invisible “Customer Reviews” interface in the air. “Fine. I'll clear this poor soul's name first, then deal with all the injustices in the human world, one by one.” From then on, the mortal world gains an eccentric who solves cases with underworld methods, while one name climbs the underworld's annual performance rankings at a terrifying pace: Lu Chen, the ultimate overachiever. As he saves others, he also earns himself a record of “immortal” achievements.
