The Clean Upper City and the Filthy Lower City

In 2242, humanity huddles inside colossal ark cities floating above a gene-contaminated wasteland. The world is divided in two: the clean upper city and the filthy lower city. For the residents of the lower city, the only way out is to awaken their genetic abilities and become Gene Warriors. Gu Jinian, a scavenger in the lower city, struggles to get by while trying to keep his gravely ill younger sister alive. During a scavenging expedition deep into the ruins of the Old Era, he accidentally merges with a mysterious “Primordial Cube.” The cube grants him a unique ability: a System interface that can analyze, absorb, and endlessly upgrade any genetic material he comes into contact with. From the weakest mutant rat to the mightiest Gene Warrior, he can extract their genetic advantages and make them his own. With this heaven-defying ability, Gu Jinian begins his rise. Starting by upgrading himself, he devours the genes of mutated creatures and ultimately challenges the rigid order of the upper city. Little by little, he uncovers the conspiracy behind the genetic contamination, the truth about the Gene Warriors, and the ultimate secret of the “Primordial Cube.” This is the story of an ordinary man from the bottom of society who, through devouring and evolution, climbs to the top of the genetic ladder and becomes a god in a new world.
