My Hapless Assistant Is on Fire

Lin Xiaoxing is the internet's “most fearless employee.” She can fix a light bulb with her bare hands and negotiate her way to the top of the trending list. Her knack for solving problems has made her a force to be reckoned with at work, but when her boss runs off, she's left unemployed. With nowhere else to turn, she accidentally applies for a job as the personal assistant to top-tier star Gu Yanchen, the entertainment industry's fabled “high-and-mighty beauty.” In reality, he's absurdly particular about cleanliness, sharp-tongued, and proud, a handsome headache of a man. One puts up with everything for a paycheck, while the other reluctantly gives in just to get rid of a nuisance. The two sign a one-year “unequal contract.” From dragging him out of bed at seven in the morning and hauling scripts around at three in the morning to handling obsessive fans and defusing power struggles within his team, Lin Xiaoxing's outgoing, no-nonsense nature constantly challenges Gu Yanchen's assumptions. As they spend time together, Gu Yanchen discovers that beneath his seemingly blunt assistant's tough exterior lie a tenderness and resilience few ever see. When workplace crises and painful pasts come one after another, this troublesome boss-and-subordinate duo are forced to stick together and fight side by side. They go from mutual irritation to falling for each other, ultimately finding sweet romance between a top-tier star and his spirited assistant, while setting off a storm in the entertainment industry with the message that “sincerity is the ultimate weapon!”
