Trending Top-Tier Star: My Hapless Boss Is a Hopeless Romantic

Lin Xiaoxing, the undisputed overachiever among office drones, dreams of finding a normal boss. Instead, on her first day at top-tier entertainment company Starpath Media, she runs into Gu Yanzhi, the entertainment industry's number-one unlucky CEO. He's rich, handsome, and well-connected, but hopelessly lovesick. One moment he's pairing up with a popular actress for a publicity romance that blows up the trending charts; the next, after she says she likes a “sweet and innocent” look, he changes the company annual party theme to “Pastoral Rice-Planting Contest,” making the entire staff suffer a mortifying group meltdown in the mud. Lin Xiaoxing plans to keep her head down until her probation ends, then quit. Instead, Gu Yanzhi drafts her as his “romance strategist,” forcing her into the miserable daily grind of “curing the boss's lovesickness”: helping him spot scheming women, deal with obsessive fans, and even stay up all night writing “dating guides.” But who could have guessed that this unlucky boss, for all his apparent uselessness, would always step in when Lin Xiaoxing was being bullied, protecting her in ways that were absurd but effective? And as Lin Xiaoxing grumbles about her boss, she discovers the gentleness and sense of responsibility beneath his lovesick exterior. When an overachieving office drone meets an unlucky, hopelessly lovesick CEO, workplace complaints turn into a romance going both ways, and the people linked to them in trending gossip gradually become each other. The whole entertainment industry is watching the drama unfold: which of these two “unlucky souls” fell first?
